Hello to all our Sandy Wayne family. We hope you are having as good a day as we are. These pictures are of our foster pups, Elsa (the white and brown one), and Brent - Bubba (the brown one). As you can see Brent it recovering nicely from the mange (not contagious) and beginning to look really good. Once all the bald spots fill back in he will be beautiful. He is still very stand-offish, and will not come to me. In order to get him inside the house, I have to hold the door opened and look the opposite direction. Most of the time he still will not come inside for me, as he will stand a few feet away and whimper. Tommy usually brings him inside in the evening. All he has to do is open the door, make sure I am not close around, and call for this little bugger to come inside. When I am outside with them, Brent runs just out of reach, wagging his tail and hopping like he is the happiest little dog on earth, then if I reach toward him, he takes off. What a scary life he must have lived before ending up at the pound. Hopefully soon this little guy will settle in and learn to be happy. Elsa never meets a stranger and tries to share her time with EVERY animal at our house, even the cat. She wants everyone to like her and she is just so bursting with energy that she can not sit still. She is a few months old and is very in tuned to her people, so she will be an excellent companion for an older person, or a great playmate for a child. This little girl will fit into any family, and will make her way right into their hearts. Today was the best day that Hope has had yet. She has been outside many times today and even trotted around the yard. At one point she came upon a limb at the edge of the property and jumped right over it. This limb was about half her height, so I was very impressed. Her facial expression is much more relaxed and peaceful today, which makes me so happy to see her enjoying life now. I just hope this continues and she can improve even more. I do expect set-backs with her, and with Sarah, which makes us even happier when they are having such good days. Mama and I went out to the pound today to check and see if they needed anything, and fortunately there was no new-comers. We do have a little girl that needs to be pulled from there as soon as we can. She is very pregnant, and we dont want her to have her babies there. She is also very feral, and no one has been able to catch her - well, until today. I was determined to check her out a bit further, and finally got my hands on her. She never tried to bite, and allowed me to feel her belly as I talked to her. Tammie is trying to get the 2 litters of puppies I am fostering placed in a rescue, and as soon as that is done, I will bring this girl home and try to make her comfy. I feel like I have been running all day, but I really dont know what I have done. It must have been fun though!! The little puppies just had their bath and their skin is looking so much better. They are playing and acting like real puppies now. Both litters of puppies have been fed and bedded down for the evening, so I suppose I should get the evening medications out and get these other babies fed, then feed my hubby. Thanks for stopping by and remember to Pay it Forward. *** I posted a picture of Sarah the other day posing in front of the pound sign, letting everyone know that Sarah and I had met the other rescue folks out there to pick up the girl with the swollen face. I guess I did not explain well in my post as several thought I had taken Sarah to the pound to leave her there. I read my post again and see how this could have been misunderstood if you had not read the previous posts. Sorry for the confusion, but please rest assured that Sarah, Hope, Faith and Sam are permanent members of my family and will not be going anywhere, especially to be dropped off at the pound. Happy Tuesday!
