Hello to our dear friends of Akron International Friendship here in Akron, around the US and around the globe We are reaching out to get your prayers and warm wishes for our dear friend and colleague Gary Wymer - so many of you know him well as the gentleman scholar, the perfect citizen diplomat, the kind hearted voice that calls on the phone or contacts you by email with Akron International Friendship to help make your arrival in Akron go smooth, to make arrangements for a school visit to share a country / culture with area classrooms, or to see if you could volunteer for one of our upcoming events or to host an international student or visitor in your home. Gary has been courageously fighting pancreatic cancer this past year and is now at the end stage with hospice care. If you would like to share some thoughts and memories or your connection with Gary on our facebook page- we will share these with him. We are putting together a book of AIF memories for Gary and will try to share some of your thoughts in the book. "We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop." Mother Theresa Gary has set a wonderful model for all of us- with humble and determined acts help to make positive change in the world.
