Hello world! Today we will be celebrating and remembering the wonderful and hilarious, kind and touching, intelligent and thoughtful life that belonged to Aisling Middleton. With only 19 years spent amongst us, Aislings life was lost tragically last week after God decided to take her for one of His own. As they say, when you pick flowers from a garden, you pick the most beautiful ones. And so it was that one week ago, God took four of his most precious creations, Chermaine, Gemma, Niamh and of course, Aisling. We thank God for his final angel who still walks amongst us, Dayna Kearney, and we think of her in this difficult time and pray for her full recovery, both physically and emotionally. We also remember Aislings family, her mother Sharon, her late father Ray who she has been reunited with in heaven, all her immediate family, her aunties, uncles, cousins and grandparents and all who are grieving the huge gaping hole left in their lives. We also pray for the many, MANY friends of Aisling Middleton, who could write a thesis on their love for Aisling. I certainly have enough material for a book after all their beautiful and funny stories, recollections and memories! Who was Aisling Middleton? If you called out Aisling! while amongst her group of friends, you would probably have a hundred heads turn. In secondary school in St Leos, her classmates re-call of how there were seven (!) Aislings in her year, all spelled the same and all (bar one) were either Aisling Marie or Aisling Mary. From this, the nickname Middy was derived, as were Maccy and Doley to help people differentiate between the three Aislings, who happened to be best friends. And so Triple A and Jessica came about as Middy, Maccy, Doyley and Jessica laughed and messed their way through their time at St Leos. The name Middy stuck, and even in college she was known as Middy, even if people didnt know why! It would be a disservice to Middy if we didnt reveal another name which she had rightly earned: Introducing Middy, Queen of Concerts Middy lived for music, and especially concerts. Many happy, happy memories were made attending concerts over the years, and friends re-call fondly their times at such events as Beyonce, Florence and The Machine, Snow Petrol, the Arctic Monkeys, One Direction, Macklemore, Mumford and Sons... The list goes on and on. So intense was her determination to get the best standing tickets, you could ALWAYS rely on her to somehow nab a few tickets for her and her friends. She had recently managed to get her hands on standing tickets for One Direction for her and Maccy for the next big One Direction concert. In fact, she had several concerts planned for 2015 and although she wont be there physically, I have no doubt she will up the front of each concert in spirit. Although she was a great woman for the craic, Aisling had a quieter side and was an avid reader, and is remembered for being an enthusiastic bookworm. She loved poetry, enjoying works from Pablo Neruda, Slyvia Plath and many many more. She also used to regularly express her grattitude towards her mother for reading to her as a child, and believes that their time together enjoying the English language contributed to her thorough understanding and appreciation of the language. Her intelligence was huge-she attained over 500 points in the Leaving Cert and her friends point out that while in school, she was able to pull an all-nighter and STILL come out with As and Bs. Her friends and family were SO proud of her when she received a scholarship to Maynooth University to study her beloved English and Anthroplogy. Together with her friends, they had often shared their dreams of going to college and she was delighted to have achieved one of her many life goals. Aisling was a character. Roisin remembers how she used to want so badly to become an author, and would practice her signature all over Roisins sheets and copies alongside messages to all her fans exclaiming her undying love for them (for when she was famous!) Roisin would always joke with her that she would sell those autographs and all her stories to the tabloids as soon as was famous, and they would giggle together at the prospect. We hope that Middy sees these statuses today and that together we accomplish another life goal for her, where her beloved friends share her stories for everyone who adores her so very much. So many beautiful stories have come in about Middys personality, her quirky traits and her love for music that I couldnt possibly capture Middy in one status. These girls had so many sides to them, so many beautiful quirks, passions, stories and experiences that we could never sum any of them up in one go. Cards of Condolenses can be sent to the Middleton family at: 79 The Meadows Coneyboro Athy Co Kildare As I sit here trawling through the many, many stories sent in, I am overwhelmed by two conflicting emotions. Happiness, for the gift of this girl in her friends and families lives. Sadness for those who got a taste of something so precious and unique, only to have it taken away. We offer our sincere condolenses to all affected by the loss of this beautiful girl. One of our Four Angels
