Helloo hope everyones having a good Thursday! I’m Ciara and I’m a second year English student. At the AGM I will be running for Publicity Convenor, and I’d really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to read why I think I’d make a suitable candidate for the role and a good addition to the committee! I’ve been a member of GUT since arriving at uni and was immediately drawn in by the friendly atmosphere of the club. I have enjoyed both the sporting and social aspects ever since, attending as many training sessions as I can, being a particular fan of the Wednesday coaching sessions and even filling in for the team on a couple of occasions when they’ve been low on players! Since being made Team Girl on my first subcrawl and gashing my knee open running up Kelvinbridge’s down escalator, somehow I have also never been able to say no to a GUT social. I have been an active member of the PR team this year, flyering and encouraging new members to join the club last Fresher’s week and publicising socials during the year. Due to my participation in this, I feel I would have a good notion of how to carry on James’s work and make further improvements to the PR team next year. I would like to expand on the benefits and incentives for PR team members in order to ensure we gain and sustain as many new members as possible at the start of, and throughout the 2014/15 session.
