Hellrazor. Many times this song gets me pumped, and I just like to rap it for the endorphin rush. But sometimes when Im tired, it gets me thinking about struggle. Ive gone through periods where I felt unworthy of success because my life has not been filled with uphill battles. Upper-middle class childhood, college, parents together for 30+ years...I did not work hard for this, and as crazy as it sounds, I used to resent myself. I work hard now, and I know I have my issues too. The point is that underneath each mans facade is a struggle. The struggle is what brings color to the uniform. Proud of what one is, but angry at how one came to be. Struggle. Anger hides sadness. Pride hides pain. Success hides struggle, but it is always there. All humans struggle, whether it be physical or mental, and it manifests in everyone differently. The fact is, we all have the ability to empathize because we have felt struggle, yet we choose to think that our beliefs, political views, and economic status (both rich and poor) make our struggles more worthy than others. Smile at the lonely; youve probably been lonely too. P.S. Forgive me if this is preachy. Im preaching to myself here too.
