Helluva season by the St. Louis Cardinals filled with tons of surprises (good and bad). A few future superstars were born (Carp, Wacha, Rosenthal, and Kelly to name a few). Several veterans stepped up as leaders for this young squad (Wainwright, Molina, Beltran, hell, even Holliday). I was unimpressed by guys who I thought were sure things (Lynn, Jay, Freese). It was immensely enjoyable throughout the entire ride that was the 2013 season. The future looks unbelievably bright for the St. Louis Cardinals if they can figure out some of their problems (Im looking at you Kozma and Freese). With Oscar Tavares looming in the minors as well as more rookies and second and third year players making huge strives this season, there is no doubt in my mind that the Cardinals can continue to assert themselves as the best National League (if not the entire MLB). The RIGHT way. The HOMEGROWN way. This pill is incredibly hard to swallow, harder than even last years, but not impossible. Thank you to the players, the coaches, and especially John Mozeliak (the best general manager in all of sports).
