Collect Christmas Gifts for Wichita Foster Children Multiple Christmas gifts, collected for Wichita area foster children, were stolen this past weekend from Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Builders, Inc. wants to help the church by collecting toys for these foster kids. While shopping this holiday season, please purchase an extra toy to donate. Then drop the toy off at the office of your apartment complex or Builders, Inc. corporate office, 1081 S. Glendale, on or before DECEMBER 15th. Builders will get the donations to Aldersgate United Methodist Church so these children can have a bright and Merry Christmas morning! See the full article from KAKE-TV below: Christmas presents for Wichita foster children stolen By: Bryan Ramsdale WICHITA, Kan. — A burglary at Aldersgate United Methodist Church left at least 34 children in foster care without Christmas presents. The crime happened sometime between Thursday night and Saturday morning said Associate Pastor Jordan McFall. Despite the sadness, it has brought the congregation together in a powerful way to make sure these kids have Christmas, McFall said. He says that the church is already coming up with ideas to get the gifts replaced. The gifts were being given through a program called Christmas Connection. The program is run by Ember Hope, a state-wide organization that helps foster children. Aldersgate accepted over 200 foster children to get gifts for. The Ember Hope organization has over 500 children that they work with. Shelly Duncan, CEO of Ember Hope, said the church and Ember Hope have a great relationship. Shes sure that the church can overcome the challenges with this crime and get the presents replaced.
