Help Rescue the Clovis Prairie Dogs! Please help rescue the Clovis prairie dogs by generously donating to the Citizens for Prairie Dog effort! Earlier this year the town leaders in Clovis decided to poison prairie dogs at Ned Houk Park. Despite protests from around the globe the poisoning went forward and countless prairie dogs (including pregnant females) were extirpated using Rozol, an anti coagulant poison. The City is planning to continue this program and, in the process, cripple efforts of a local group, "Citizens for Prairie Dogs" to intervene on behalf of the prairie dogs. The politics have become so underhanded and vitriolic that neighboring Chaves county has banned moving the Clovis prairie dogs onto federal lands that were offered to host them. So many obstacles have been placed in front of our associates, "Citizens for Prairie Dogs", who are trying to save prairie dogs in Clovis from poisoning! "Citizens for Prairie Dogs" will begin a pro bono rescue on private land owned by Dr. Ali Ghaffari, Sr., the only place in Clovis and the environs that these wonderful advocates have been "allowed" to be relocated to. They are performing this rescue as a humanitarian effort to encourage Clovis Management to return to an equitable arrangement with “Citizens for Prairie Dogs” for the sake of this beleaguered species. Please take time to thank Dr. Ali M Ghaffari, Sr. 815 W. 14th St. Clovis, NM 88101 for leading by example and his leadership in promoting a humane solution. Please also send whatever you can effort to support the out of pocket expenses for the two wonderful folks who comprise "Citizens for Prairie Dogs" Organization. Please go to citizensforprairiedogs.org/donations and click on the PayPal link to help this wonderful group save what they can.
