Message courtesy of Mercedes Lander: EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT CANADIAN PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION!!! although as a canadian it has become increasingly more expensive and become much harder to gain access to tour the united states, i believe that this is down right appalling and is going to destroy a large portion of our economy. as a canadian musician that tours world wide i believe it is imperative to set a standard of tolerance and understanding. we as musicians do not make an exponential amount of money and i believe this will negatively effect our economy and put small businesses and business owners (ie clubs, bartenders, security etc.) out of jobs adversely effecting our already rising unemployment rate. i also believe we, as canadians need to set an example for other countries as australia has done, and accept musicians from other countries here with open arms and realize the positive economic stimulation bringing these acts has on our country.
