Help me Facebook. First some background. Every year January is my healthy month, I like to sort myself out after the overeating and drinking of Christmas ready for the year ahead, so I have a month off the booze and control my calorie intake to lose any weight I gained in the previous 11 months. Im sure this is quite common. One of the side effects of dieting as a man is that when the weight comes off you can start to look a bit skinny in the arms. The fat that previously created the illusion of biceps is gone and you can easily be left with a wishbone that connects your head to your hands. So to counteract this, when I diet I also do a little strength training. Nothing much, I have no desire to become Arnie (my ipad just autocorrected that to Annie, but I thought it best to correct it). So I do a few press ups, and planking which helps the core strength for running.. So nothing major. Now comes my problem. On Thursday evening while waiting for Sue so that we could go for a run together I found her dumb bell weights. The fact that she owns some and I dont will probably explain a lot of what happens next. I spent the next 10 mins working on my arms and shoulders (by now I imagine your thinking that I had my top off and was looking at myself in the mirror but that wasnt the case.. I promise). Then I went out for a run, everything was fine, when I got back I did my usual press ups and plank etc, no problem. Then came Friday. Friday is the day the pain came. Friday is the day I discovered I could no longer straighten my arms. Friday is the day I started to worry that I would be trapped in a perpetual state of Lego-man for the rest of my life, and now Saturday is here and that fear only grows stronger.. Help me Facebook, before my hands turn to yellow claws that can only hold a brief case or fire hose.
