Help me get back in shape reddit/r/Fitness/comments/2b1fvh/help_me_get_back_in_shape/ Hello all, I am normal build male 25. I am not looking to build huge muscles or become extremely athletic nor losing a lot of weights. I kinda want to improve everything slowly but surely, Im not expecting fast results, its more of changing my habit permamently to workout regularly. Since 2008 or so I have been drastically working out or do any physical activities less. Just this summer I have been starting to run again (running, not jogging) and instead of running longer I try to increase my speed and run harder, resulting me to be completely exhausted and out of breath at the end of 2-3km (1-2 miles). As I mentioned I have been doing cardio with semi intensity for 20-30 mins each day + stretching. However Id like to get back on training my muscles/weight as well. I have 2 options Id like to ask your opinions. 1) Get to the gym and note that only gym I can regularly visit is the gym near my house which is always crowded. I used to really like machines training and I still do as it forces me to have better form. But lately I also like training with free weights. The only downfall with the gym is theres too much people and I usually have to wait sometimes a lot for people to complete their sets. Dumbbells training could work, but the space is limited plus the bench is not always free. Which leads me to option 2) Buy my own bench (flat or incline? or adjustable?) and I already have my own pairs of dumb bells which are only 2x10kg, what kind of extra weights should I buy? Should I buy a barbell? Also should I still continue doing cardio? I guess I want somewhat more muscular and balanced body and most important of all lose a bit of weight, preferably stomach fat (I know there is no focus weight lost).
