Help raise awareness for what is going on at the Carmelite Home in East Chicago. There is currently about 67 children living there. BOYS AS WELL AS GIRLS. Ages ranging from newborn to 18 years old. The need there is greater than any of us can imagine. The stories of what some of these children have gone through is almost unreal. If you or someone you know, would like to take part in making a change in one or even a few of these kids lives, a link to their page is attached, you can download an application and turn it in to the Carmelite Home: M-F 9am-4pm 4840 Grasselli St. East Chicago, IN 46312 (219) 397-1085 You would have to pass a background check, as well as take a TB test. Once you do that, you have several options as to what you can do to help out: You can sponsor a child and take part in keeping up with their needs as well as their everyday lives. You can volunteer some of your time to help the kids out with their homework, after school. You can be a chaperone when they take the kids on outings. If you are out doing school clothes or supply shopping for your children, pick up something extra, an extra outfit or an extra backpack. Believe it or not, every little bit does help out when it comes to these kids. Some of them only come with the clothes on their backs, so YES, EVERY LITTLE BIT DOES COUNT!! The Carmelite Home also takes cash donations as well as gift cards: Food cards, store cards, gas cards are always accepted. Checks can be made out to: St. Josephs Carmelite Home. Thank you for reading this and please, pass the word along! Thank you!!
