Help save misschu Ok - so just a little reminder of what’s happened thus far: - I created a brand in 2007 to feed people nutritious and inexpensive Vietnamese food - By 2010 misschu grew into an iconic culture and hospitality venture - In 2013 I made a few false moves by opening London as a trial and allowed the business to be mismanaged and therefore accumulated some debt and now it’s up for grabs Whilst I await for the administrators to determine who owns my company I want to marshall the support of everyone who knows and appreciates how rare brands that invest in the arts, design and your nutrition are in Australia. Am I begging, am I pleading? Yes, a little bit. But in my heart this simply feels like a call to action: GO AND EAT MISSCHU FOOD! Doing so literally ensures that this brand continues. I didn’t grow too quickly. I grew in the wrong direction at the last minute, London was a mistake but Sydney and Melbourne are still thriving. So to ensure this continues go in and enjoy the dumplings, Pho and rice paper rolls… I have taken literally nothing from misschu. I own no property and I pay my rent each month like most of you - everything I have done over the past 8 years has been for the business and to try to change peoples perceptions on what it is to be a refugee and a new Australian.... we are good for the economy. I want misschu to continue as a brand that feeds people’s hearts and minds. It is the peoples brand- we all helped to create it. $4 million in debt sounds awful until you look at it in context of how much it takes to run a Hospitality business in Australia and how many stores we have in operation - 6! Justin North was $8 million in debt over 2 restaurants when he went into receivership 2 years ago. All suppliers have done well out of misschu since inception and will continue to do so in the future. Business is risky but its a risk worth taking. Do not be discouraged to go into business! 9 out 10 businesses fail and it takes up to 5 attempts and variations of a business for it to be a major success and .... Misschu is a globally relevant and important Australian food service development One day, it will be global. No one prepares you for failure (massive failure on the part of the education system and government) and the draconian Australian insolvency laws make an outlaw out of our entrepreneurs. Richard Branson risked to lose everything his whole career until the sale of virgin music... Which broke his heart! He then risked everything again to get virgin airlines off the ground. Apple and Google went into Administration before they got the model right. As Winston Churchill once said: success is not final, failure is not fatal. Its the courage to continue on that counts. misschu is trading as usual and will continue to do so as long as it has the peoples support. If there are trollers out there, before you want to comment negatively about me.... please speak to my staff and ex staff and suppliers and people I deal with in business and in life. You will find that I am generous and trusting to a fault. Having said that, the temporary failure of misschu Sydney has to be mine. I am the company director and I take all the blame. But I will save it.... im still here running the business and will forever more no matter who buys the company. Please help me save misschu. Yours truly, Nahji Chu
