Help us renovate the Main library! The Jersey City Free Public Library is an exquisite architectual structure in the Italian Renaissance tradition that greets visitors with a Tiffany window in its main lobby. The Main Library which has served Jersey City residents since its grand opening in 1901, offers a wide array of educational and cultural programming. Today, this wonderful community asses is in need of significant modernization to ensure ADA compliance and to provide he museum-quality, climate-controlled stacks necessary to store and preserve the New Jersey Rooms priceless historic documents and maps. Donors will have the opportunity to provide unrestricted gift or identify specific project areas to fund. Donors will be acknowledged, on a donation tree placed on the wall in the lobby after renovations, as a permanent reminder of those who made this valuable investment in this important community asset.
