Help us to send WORD 4U 2DAY to more people 18 Mar 2014 PARDON TRUE ...The Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13 Its fair (and right) to go through feeling hurt. But, the forgiveness thing still has to happen. Have a look back at yesterdays reading. Jesus stepped in to fix things between us and God, which hurt Him. It hurt Him in the shape of metal nails, whip-lashes, spears and a bunch of thorns. And it came with its own soundtrack of the careless laughter of His enemies, alongside the heartbroken cries of His family. But He embraced the experience, full of forgiveness. Jesus shows that there is a healthy way to get over hurt. That forgiveness is not about staying the victim, but about taking control through loving-but-strong action. He did it so that we could be let off for all of the ridiculous things we still do. I mean. Wow. We think thats inspiration enough to forgive the people whove acted really terribly towards you. It doesnt practically make it much easier to do, we know (and sometimes there need to be other steps first - like letting people know if youve been seriously hurt, and its been kept secret). But it provides the reason to. And, incidentally, the whole, beautiful plan of the cross provides a bridge back to Gods power. And if anything can help you to forgive, its Gods power. Just ask Him. WHAT NOW? Read Matthew 6:9-14 quietly, in your head. Then, read those verses again, out loud. Finally, read verse 12 out loud one last time, and write M 6:12 on your hand or arm to remind you of what youve (hopefully) taken away from it. Bible in a Year Ex 34: 27-35; 2 Cor 3:7-18; Did you enjoy reading this? Wed love you to share it with a friend
