Helpful photography tip: On bright days it can be difficult to get the Depth of Field (aka DOF) desired even with a low ISO setting, especially if you want to use a very shallow DOF. The secret to being able to do this is to employ Neutral Density (aka ND) filters to cut down on the amount of light coming into the camera, and allowing for wider aperture openings at moderate shutter speeds. Lets say you are shooting outside in very bright light, but want to shoot with your lens wide open, lets say perhaps even at an f 1.4. You may find it hard to get that wide an aperture, even with a low ISO, especially if you want to keep your shutter speed in a more moderate range so you still have some motion blur (i.e. a macro shot outside of a flying insect), you can use an ND filter to bring the exposure into range and get the effect you want. ND filters come in various densities, and there are even variable ones out there so you can dial in the amount of density desired.
