Helping Hunger I wake up. Theres a war going on out there. Most of us dont see it. Most of us forget to care While we routinely re fill our coffee cups. Its a privilege to go to sleep after a good meal. Its a blessing to prepare food we didnt steal. Hunger is a curse that is far too real. And a war weve over looked for far too long. Think of the children in third world countries. They cant sleep because theyre hungry. They dont ever quench their thirst. No water is better than poison. This is hunger at its worst. Feed the children. Save a life. Its worse than it looks. There are homeless veterans Who walk miles just for a bite to eat. They give us a passing glance and we instantly retreat. Where did our hearts go? Why are they still so stone cold? Why do we believe every lie were told? The hungry, the homeless, the orphans, They see, they know. We must help in any way we can. Before we wake up. To no food on our tables. Not even water in our cups. We must try to be the face of hope To every wandering woman, child and man.
