Helping ? Sometimes delivering a person from the consequences of their behavior is doing them a disservice. Some people, including Christians, dont finally learn important lessons of life until the consequences for their words, their actions, and their schemes come to fruition and they have to reap a painful harvest. Delivering some people from their consequences can also be a serious negative for those who do the delivering. By helping some people, they may bind themselves to that person for another delivery in the future and another and another and another - till both their energy, their joy, and their pocket book are drained! As always, Wisdom will aid us if we will listen. Proverbs says, A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again. Proverbs 19:19 What is Wisdom telling us? She is telling us that there are some people who simply dont learn and dont work on their character. And if you aid them when they are suffering the consequences of their foolishness, you will have to aid them again, and again, and again.......Eventually, because of your own decisions to help, you will pay a heavy price. Dont confuse walking in love with helping every person in every situation and circumstance. Some who persist in laziness, foolishness, selfishness, and fleshliness need to experience the consequences of their actions. When you deliver some people, you are neither loving your neighbor as yourself OR loving yourself!
