Helping brighten your weekend! #VisionZero SF Task Force meeting notes (City Hall 23 Sept) 1. ENGINEERING: - Daylighting all SF intersections* started; targets high-crash locations first. - SF Fire Dept. rewriting their requirements! modeled on the NACTO-based guidelines in LA & NYC - New bicycling strategies and projects posted by Dec. - 24 (projects) in ’24: $3.5m earmarked for 24 projects to increase safety, some sched. for 2016 Projects list: bit.ly/V024in24Proj Original resolution: bit.ly/1Bd4dA5 2. ENFORCEMENT: - SF now has no overall speed limit; establishing a (low) one less likely to affect speeding than enforcement will. - $2m from CA will fund more new SFPD officers & more equipment, e.g. speed guns - Overall travel speeds have declined; no data stated as to why & during what time period. 3.
