ECONOMIC REFORMS: Bravo Madam for the courage to do the economic reforms that your predecessor was very reluctant to take. In my view, you did not devalue the Kwacha, you simply re-aligned it to the true market value. This immediately killed the parallel market which had previously made forex bureaux redundant. Bravo! 2. AVAILABILITY OF FUEL: Lets face it, it was hell in the last months of Bingu. Bravo that you have managed to have an entire two years with fuel availability all through! Commendable! 3. WINNING BACK THE DONOR CONFIDENCE: You scored high marks by winning back donor confidence within few weeks of your leadership. We saw inflows of donor aid that helped stabilise the economy. Bravo!!! It was only regrettable that this was short-lived, but it was a good start. 4. FREEDOM OF SPEECH: Lets give credit where it is due: I wouldnt have had the freedom to say most of what I say in the DPP era. That was tyranny. But you are very tolerant to different views. I am truly grateful for your respect of freedom of speech.
