BIAFRA Ohaneze Ndigbo has asked the federal government to pay the south eastern states the sum of N2.6trillion for the damages recorded during the Nigeria-Biafra civil war. ABIA State governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has said that any reparation to be paid to the South East geo-political zone to make up for civil war damages, should be done through significant federal presence in the region. An Igbo group, Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF), called on the federal government not to release the N2.6 trillion reparation fund directly to the benefiting eastern state governments whenever it was available but set up a National Intervention Fund, NIF, that should be entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring judicious use of the funds. Source: Vanguard. 18/July/2014 However, with the views and suggestions from some persons therefrom, it can be said that, perhaps we have lost the struggle (Biafra struggle) and now want to exchange our birth right for money. It means that once the money is paid to us, we must forget Biafra and never mention anything about it again. Some people have started suggesting a way to share the money when the money has not even come. Please Igboist, what do you think about this?
