Henry William Foulds (my mother’s father) Grandad was born 1891 in Edinburgh, Scotland (his father was American and mother Scottish). He came to the US probably around 1900, I don’t know exactly. He spent his childhood in Ocean City, N.J. and was a Life Guard between 1910 and 1912. He graduated from the Univ. of Pennsylvania with a chemical engineer degree, and did military service from 1916 to 1919, first in Mexico, then in Europe. Before returning from the war, he was a graduate student in economics at the Univ. of London. In 1919, he went to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to work as general manager for an American company and stayed there for six years. He met “Chiqui” (Rose Purcell Huntington) and married her in 1922. By about 1925 or 1926 he moved with his family to the USA for good.
