Henry has participated in Future Problem Solvers International (fpspi.org) the past 3 years through his elementary school, Fred the last 2. Faced with the problem that his middle school did not offer the program, Henry wrote a letter to his principal this summer requesting her help in starting up a new club. After the two of them met for lunch the first week of classes, she invited Henry to speak to a meeting of the entire faculty and staff to ask for at least one volunteer to coach the school team. Henry texted me while I was away this weekend to let me know that two teachers had asked to be coaches and that an announcement was made over the loud speakers that the program was now being offered. He and Fred will be going to school early tomorrow morning for their first meeting. Problem. Solved.
