She spreads a net with seeds on it, setting a trap. - Moses Maimonides RamBam hits the nail on the head. I have found that a lot of my suffering and pain comes from wanting or yearning for something. Even when i strive, toil, & sacrifice to get what i am yearning for, the enjoyment is short lived. I just become ensnared and trapped with some other yearning. Maimonides compares the world with a exotic woman... so true. Me and my friend used to joke when such a beauty would walk by. He would look at me and say ouch that is painful.... a quick yearning shoots through. When i fall in love or get trapped with other worldly things, this pain is constant. Only when i am completely in the present and content with my blessings am i at PEACE.
