A common question within the fitness industry is, what percentage of my physique enhancement goals will be a direct result of exercise, and what percentage will be a result of my diet? A typical answer would be something like this; Well, they are both important. You cant really assign percentages or training is 100%, diet is 100%, but that doesnt really give the novice trainee an accurate depiction of the bigger picture... Diet will always have a bigger impact than training! Looking at the 80/ 20 rule: If we apply the top end figures of our example above, being 9 training sessions and 35 meals/snacks geared toward body composition improvement in one week, this equates to approximately 20% accounted to physical activity and 80% accounted to diet. This is a pretty accurate assessment, and one that we believe is the cornerstone of any Body Transformation process. So if you want to look good, 80% of your results will be achieved by good nutrition and the food that you eat. The moral of the story is; you cant change your body just by exercising. As a matter of fact, we would go as far as to say that you could actually be wasting your time in the gym until you clean up your diet and implement a sound fitness & nutrition rich program.
