Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. ~ Revelation 3:20 Even mornings in southern California are chilly. My achy joints remind me Im better off staying nice and warm in my bed than facing the cold. So, I grab my phone and delete useless email. Then I open up Facebook, looking for people with prayer requests and inspiring words from fellow Christians. The really warmth comes when I open my Bible app or Bible study. Suddenly Im no longer alone. My God is with me, whispering His promises to my heart, reassuring and encouraging me in what He has called me to. Just this morning I was so sad. Six weeks of my husband working 12 hour days has taken its toll on my emotions. I pray he will be home in time for dinner tonight because I dont even have the privilege of seeing him in the morning. Lord, Im lonely, my heart cried as I opened my Bible study. And then He reminded me Hes waiting for me every morning to invite Him in. I dont have to go out into the cold alone. I have someone to share the ups and downs of my day. All I have to do is invite Him to join me. Come, Lord Jesus, and have Your way in me.
