Here, Zizek does two things. First, Zizek basically uses Deleuze without a bit of credit to Deleuze. That the Real as a Virtual Real, a Virtual Abstract Real that has aeffects on reality, what we understand as concrete reality. Such that our worlds or that is the lives of everyday hard working peoples can be utterly redefined by a change in this Real. One minute your life means this, there is a change in this virtual real, and now your life no longer has that meaning. Another or the Second thing that I wanted to point out, things that Zizek seems to take credit for noticing, but have already been articulated over and over, is this metaphor usage of the Higgs field, where in order to keep at zero level one must input a great amount of energy, such that Lewis Carroll is quite famous for this notion in his Looking Glass novel, where Alice and the Red Queen are on the chess board, and it is noted that to stay in play you must run very fast, but if one wanted to move forward, one must move even faster, as metaphor for our world, that we must continue to work hard to keep what we have - to keep at this current level. Anyway, these two things, came to our notices, because they are presented as some sort of discovery. But what is being dis-covered was something covered and re-presented, meaning they were already there before to be had, again and again it seems. One only needs to put on a new bit of clothing only for it to be taken off or put on again. youtu.be/jjOXGbNCjyE?t=1h23s
