Here are a couple of Missouri Senate bills to watch: SB80 provides that Two or more contiguous counties within a single judicial circuit may act cooperatively in the common employment of a prosecuting attorney. So, smaller counties could join together to elect a *full* time prosecutor dedicated to the job. This is already allowed generally under our state constitution. SB79 is similar and even provides for partial state funding, which is probably the right idea as the prosecutor always announces as the States attorney. Both bills provide that the county must opt-in to the system, maintaining local control of the decision. Brian MunzlingerJoe Don McGaugh senate.mo.gov/15info/BTS_Web/Bill.aspx?SessionType=R&BillID=40
