Here are a few Charlotte throwbacks! Shopping at Eastland Mall, playing in around and underneath the train at Freedom Park, does anyone remember Hardees on Nations Ford Road? I loved, loved, loved that playground... I have great memories of playing monster there with my father who is now passed. A few more for ya.... Does anyone remember Country City on Wilkinson? My father played bass there for many years. Billy Bobs now known as Chuckie Cheese. The ice skating rink at Eastland Mall. I remember buying many of my back to school clothes at Uptons on Albemarle Road... I cannot recall if the building is still there but for the longest time it was just sitting there vacant a huge eyesore ! Finally, last but not least who remembers the shopping center that at Kmart and Infinitys end and other stores on Independence which ended up just being an eyesore and is now being demolished. Is anybody familiar with Greenwood Drive off Nations Ford Road? That is where I was born and lived till I was 5. My mother lived there with her mother before 77 was even finished and Carowinds was not even thought of. It started to go downhill right before we luckily got the heck out of there and moved in off lawyers road with my step father . So blessed and thankful for that man. Okay folks that was my spell I am proud to be a charlotte native coming from a long line of Charlotte natives on my mothers side. My dads side of the family was from Boone which also holds a very special place in my heart. What are some of your favorite throwbacks and definitely comment on the ones I shared :-) Namaste
