Fascial Rewind Sunday, February 15, 2015 - 9am-6pm 8 CEUs - $88.88 Join Chris and Xerlan Deery for a great class while refining your fascial awareness and skills! This is an extension of what we may already know – Fascia is just as important to work within as muscles are. Millions have been made teaching specific techniques, tips and tricks concerning the myofascia, but many massage therapists have it in their “toolkit” and do not realize it. This class will help the participant engage their existing knowledge and build upon it, to more effectively work in a myofascial paradigm. This class targets the tailoring of a massage session based on the individual client, as well as practical techniques for the therapist to use for optimal muscular and fascial relaxation. Approaches to help our our clients address their “flexion addicted” postures and improve into a more functional way of moving are provided. Special emphasis is also put on the current research and models of the myofascia, ways to examine the fascial environment, ways to fully engage myotatic units, and kinesiological principles of fascial movement. During the course you will learn: what medicinal aromatherapy really is; how to most effectively use essential oils on yourself and others; delve into the healing properties of over 30 essences; practice application methods; explore the history of essential oils, how to distill them and the different philosophies of essences; experience meditation and yoga with the assistance of plant medicine; participate in a powerful healing circle and dive deeply into your connection with Mother Earth. This is an aromatherapy educational and experiential opportunity like no other. You will leave with a vast knowledge of the heart and soul of aromatherapy. This class is suitable for massage therapists, nurses, people who want a natural alternative to conventional health care methods, herbalists, or anyone who deeply cares about our planet and being steeped in wellness. Anyone interested in taking the 9 month Immersion Aromatherapy course MUST take this level 1 class first. This is the only time it is being offered prior to the Immersion starting in March.
