Here are a few shots from 2/1/1992. I had been a frequent visitor for many years to Eastside Yard. Over time, I had become friends with the guys who fueled and sanded the engines near the turntable. After awhile, they let me head down and take pictures which was very cool of them. Here are a few shots from that visit. This was the only time I ever saw this Chessie Uboat. The GE paint jobs on the Uboats did not hold up like the EMDs did. I thought it was an all spartan cab affair when out of the corner of my eye I spotted a fairly new C40-8W which was about 1 month old. The beginning of the widecab era on CSX. This was quite exciting back then and I gave those guys allot of free dunkin donuts over the years LOL!
