Here are my results. Any advice on what to expect for my recovery would be very helpful: Findings: Overall examination of the right knee reveals mild marrow signal inhomogeneity within the distal shaft of the femur. This most likely is due to red marrow. I see no evidence of marrow edema that would suggest a fracture. There is moderately intense edema anterior to the patella and quadriceps tendon that extends predominantly to the lateral aspect. There is extension inferior to the patella anterior to the patellar ligament and extension laterally. The patella demonstrates no abnormal signal intensity that would suggest a fracture. The lateral collateral ligament and iliotibial tract are intact. The pes anserinus and medial collateral ligament are intact. The medial meniscus is intact. The lateral meniscus is intact. The posterior cruciate ligament shows mild edema at its femoral attachment suggesting sprain. The anterior cruciate ligament shows normal orientation but is moderately edematous predominantly in the posterior band and near the femoral attachment. The meniscofemoral ligament is intact. The transverse ligament is intact. There is minimal spurring in the medial compartment. Hoffas fat pad is intact. There is mild chondromalacia of the patella. I see no appreciable loose bodies. The popliteus muscle and tendon are intact. The remainder of the musculature is intact. No appreciable popliteal cyst formation is noted. Conclusion: 1.There is early degenerative change in the right knee. 2.There appears to be sprain of both the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments. I see no evidence of a complete tear. 3.Tiny joint effusion. 4.The menisci are intact. 5.Subcutaneous edema predominantly in the anterior aspect of the distal thigh and knee proper.
