Here are several photographs of the famous Katie King materialization that occurred in the laboratory of Sir William Crookes. For those unfamiliar with the experiment, Crookes, the English chemist and physicist who discovered Thallium, set out to investigate the medium Florence Cook regarding her claims at being able to manifest a deceased spirit. Crookes was somewhat skeptical of the alleged physical phenomena associated with Spiritualism, but nevertheless set out to conduct an impartial investigation. In his own words - It must be at my own house, and my own selection of friends and spectators, under my own conditions, and I may do whatever I like as regards apparatus The skeptical portion of the scientific community, expecting a quick verdict against Spiritualism, was thrown into a frenzy when Crookes produced irrefutable evidence to the contrary. Crookes researched this materialization in depth. He did so in the company of numerous others - including Dr. James Gully (who can be seen taking Kings pulse). Crookes and Cook were crucified by the skeptics and became the subject of near ceaseless slander. The same can be said of countless Spiritualists and investigators who dared to challenge scientific orthodoxy. This trend extends to modernity with numerous writers to whom granting the appellation of historian would be most inappropriate. That phenomena unexplainable by scientific orthodoxy has happened and continues to occur on a daily basis is fact. That it has been demonstrated in countless scientific experiments is undeniable by anyone who studies history without prejudice. Materialism is dead to all but the most ignorant and/or bigoted and closed-minded of the human race.
