Here are some USA illegal immigrant thoughts as I watch the Olympics and the variety of people from all over the world: 1) 99% of the illegals Ive ever met and ever worked with are honest and hard-working. 2) 99% of illegal immigrants would not come to the USA if there WAS NOT a job for them .... think about it. If you lived in a poor village in Mexico or some other Latin country, why would you leave your family and risk the hardship and struggle to come to the USA if there was not a job for you when you arrived? 3) Two-thirds of illegal immigrants pay Medicare, Social Security and personal income taxes. And the 1996 welfare reform bill disqualified illegal immigrants from nearly all means-tested government programs including food stamps, housing assistance, Medicaid and Medicare-funded hospitalization. The only services that illegals can still get are emergency medical care and K-12 education. 4) The Social Security taxes paid by illegal immigrants now add up to more than $50 billion .... a surplus which they will never be able to collect (unless they become citizens). 5) Without illegal immigrants, the prices of many products in the USA (such as produce in the grocery store, the cleaning of offices and hotel rooms, food service) would be much higher.
