SDU student Giedre from Lithuania completed an international internship with the marketing team of an entrepreneurial organisation in Bangalore, India. It really helped her in her Masters programme in International Business and Management. -What did you see/where did you go in the country you have visited? -I’ve been traveling in South India. I saw an amazing nature, mountains, sea, flowers, fruit and coffee plantations. India is truly magical country – beautiful and just amazing. I saw the poor and rich in India at the same street what doesn’t exist in my country. Telling the truth I had many moments when I was happy that I’m born in Europe. -How is this experience related to your studies? -I am studying International Business and Management so I find traveling and learning about different cultures as very important part of my education. TiE Bangalore is an innovative and open minded company that reflects on the tendencies in India. During my studies I didn’t have entrepreneurship courses and most of the examples used in lectures and books are from the huge corporations. Choosing TiE Bangalore was a great way to learn and familiarize with the peculiarities of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs. -How is this internship going to boost your career? -I evaluate practical training as a very useful experience. I have found out what my strengths and weaknesses are. I gained new knowledge and skills . I was in a totally different environment- cultural and in terms of occupation. After my internship I decided on the topic of my master thesis. Moreover, this internship has given me new insights and motivation to pursue a career as an entrepreneur.
