Here are some of the things on the Community Action Alliance agenda: 1. Recycling of police officers known to be bad apples. 2. The amount and quality of training on policing in communities of color including racial bias and cultural competency. Who trains? How do they get the contracts to provide the training? 3. Accreditation for police officers and departments 4. Militarization of police 5. Creating a publicly searchable database to check on complaints against officers and the outcome of any investigation. This is a group that I am working with and intend to continue with after I leave the County Executives office.
