Here are some peach measurements for you, for future - TopicsExpress

Here are some peach measurements for you, for future reference: One bushel = about 48-50 pounds of peaches One pound of peaches = 3 medium or 2 large peaches One pound = about 4 cups sliced peaches About 10 peaches will make a 9 inch pie. One bushel = about 12 quarts of canned peaches (from what I’ve read) A peck is a quarter of a bushel. One bushel will yield 18-24 quarts Here in Missouri if we dont have peach trees we wait for Campbell peaches, considered the ultimate for canners to use. They arent normally in the stores just in roadside stands and you can go to the town of Campbell and buy there. The price of 1/2 bushel of Campbell peaches at the roadside stand was $27.00, yes, twenty seven dollars for 1/2 bushel. The sign also advertised 3/4 bushel for $47.00 but didnt have a price for a bushel and at those prices I didnt ask. I didnt purchase any at this price as Im hoping to find them cheaper. What are you paying for peaches in your area? ~Carolyn
