Here are some questions to consider, and action to take, in order to apply this weeks message Live Different: Live Purely (Matthew 5:8) to your everyday life: What insight, principle or observation from this weekend’s message did you find to be most helpful, eye opening or troubling? Explain. Have you ever missed out on something important because you were distracted by something? Read James 4:8. Jot down any insights, questions or observations. There are many things in life to distract us from God. Read 1 John 2:16. Can you name some examples of things that often distract you? Prayer: Following David in Psalm 24, ask God to give you clean hands and a pure heart. Ask him to remove distractions from your life and tell him your desire to remain focused on him above all things. He alone is worthy of your worship. Pray to God and ask him to make you an example of purity for others to follow. Action: Begin to examine your life. Find a time each day/week to reflect and ask yourself: 1) What has distracted me from God today? What idols have I set up in my life? 2) How can I tear them down in the name of Jesus? 3) Are my actions pure? Am I as clean on the inside as I may appear on the outside? 4) How can I allow God’s spirit to cleanse my heart? 5) Am I teaching others to live purely? Am I an example for them to follow?
