Here are some tips to help you navigate constantly changing road conditions. Slow down in inclement weather Rainy, foggy and misty conditions reduce visibility. Slow down in shaded areas and on bridges or overpasses. These areas tend to freeze first. Reducing your speed on highways can also help prevent hydroplaning when roads are slick. Do not use cruise control on loose gravel or in rainy or snowy conditions. If your vehicle starts to slip or hydroplane, cruise control may cause the engine to rev resulting in you losing control of the vehicle.
