Here are the latest watches and advisories... A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect at 6 PM Tomorrow evening and run until 6 AM Tuesday for McLean, Champaign and Vermilion Counties. A Winter Storm Watch will go into effect at 6 PM Tomorrow evening and run until 6 AM Tuesday for Ford and Iroquois Counties. Warren County, Indiana the Winter Storm Watch will go into effect at 7 PM EST Monday evening and run until 10 AM EST Tuesday morning. Timing: Snow will start to arrive west of I-55 by the evening hours and spread east into the late evening. This will be a quick moving system and snow should be wrapped up by Tuesday morning. Accumulations: Areas that will be under the Advisory or Watch could see 3 to 6 inches before the snow comes to an end. Areas between I-74 and I-72 could see 1 to 3 with less than an inch from Taylorville to Mattoon to Effingham. Hazards: Roads will quickly become slick as temperatures will remain well below freezing. The wind will be gusty at times reducing visibility. If you have travel plans for Monday night into Tuesday morning in this area please try to re-schedule or allow for ample time to get to your destination. Please slow down and use extreme caution traveling. Once this system passes very frigid arctic air will settle in dropping overnight lows below zero with daytime highs on Wednesday just above zero. Wind Chill Values will remain below zero from Tuesday evening through Thursday morning, if not longer.
