Here are the winners of the Kerala Quiz held on November 10th, 2013 during our Mission Sunday programs. 1st Prize ( Rs 400/-) Ms. Dhannya U. (Marks 18/30 ) 2nd Prize ( Rs 275/-) Mr. Karun. ( Marks 18 /30 ) 3rd Prize (Rs 150/-) co-shared by: Ms. Rithu Mariya & Mr. Dani. ( Marks 18 /30 ) Consolation Prize Winners: 1. Master Abin Sabu Std IV B ( Marks 17/30) - 9 Minus Marks. 2. Sister Beena ( Marks 17/30) - 13 Minus Marks 3. Mr. Jaison K. J. ( Marks 15/30) - 5 Minus Marks. Note: There were 4 participants who scored 18 marks vying for the 1st Prize. Hence, the one who got the least minus marks was selected the winner for First Prize ( Ms Dhannya U - 8 Minus marks), the next least minus marks took the second place ( Mr Karun - 10 Minus marks). For the third prize there was a tie between Ms Reethu Maria & Mr Dani both scoring 18 marks each and getting 12 minus marks each for marking the wrong answers. Well! This contest was planned only for the children from Std 5th to Std 12th initially (as announced by our Parish Priest on November 3rd, 2013) but in the last minute the church committee members gave permission to the elders also to participate in this game show. Despite that no one was able to crack all 30 questions relating to our Kerala correctly and win the bumper prize of Rs 600/-. The minus marking system was dropped off from the contest after seeing that everyone got more wrong answers compared to correct answers. But to select THE FINAL WINNERS we had to take into consideration the minus marks obtained by each winner for the 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and for judging the 3 consolation prizes winners. I hope this was a fair method used by me without being partial to anyone in particular. Hope this kind of game shows will help our children to gain some knowledge relating to our state, country and the world at large. PRIZES here hold no significance as such when compared to the knowledge our children will acquire through such game shows. Hence the prizes given here are just to boost their morales and encourage them to participate in such shows.
