Here are three very short video clips of the local Punta Cana - TopicsExpress

Here are three very short video clips of the local Punta Cana scene. The colors are vibrant. Most people who visit stay at all-inclusive resorts and either dont leave the them or only take organized excursions. Before the highway that was recently completed, you got a view of some of this on your way from and to the airport. Now with the completion of the highway, very few people see much of the local scene. Some of the organized excursions/tours are a good idea, not necessarily because of the activity, but because it does get you out and about very safely to see some of the real place. Driving on your own is very challenging here. Road signs are limited and often the way you are directed by signs is the wrong choice i.e. the long route, not the quickest route. I dont suggest wondering around by yourself if you are not familiar with the areas or are not with someone that is. I dont mean to scare anyone and I have never been concerned for my safety. These clips were taken when we were with our friend Photophil Steingard Photography , who practically lives in Punta Cana. Next time, if we go back, were thinking of taking a visit to the mountains with Phil. Another change up we are thinking about is flying into or out of Santa Domingo, just to see it. We never have seen the capital. I dont recommend it, unless you want to see S.D. The flights are usually cheaper, but the differential in price is eaten up by the cost of transportation to Punta Cana, about $100. If we try the S.D. choice, I already know where we would stay for a few nights. Its a boutique hotel with a view of some of the history Santo Domingo has to offer. The current GM used to be a manager at Majestic Elegance Resort, Punta Cana. Ill talk about him and the hotel in another post. So far no one has suggested to me another place to go on our next journey. We have been to all continents except Antartica on multiple occasions. I know there are lots of you out there reading. FB tells me how many different people view each post. While I was away, I reached a new high of 1,096 one day. I havent cracked that 2,000 mark yet. I should have done another post to push the number, but I was enjoying myself too much. haha Meanwhile, here at home, I am suffering from a chest and head cold that I picked up on the plane/airports on my way home. It is lingering and I have lost my voice for the last several days. Some might say that is a good thing. LOL My fingers work fine though, so I can keep talking here.
