Paper shred - 100% Recycled Paper, made in USA Cellophane bags - certified biodegradable & compostable Packing peanuts - certified biodegradable (cornstarch based) Colored tissue paper - 100% Post Industrial Recycled Fibers, made in USA The packing peanuts can be composted, will dissolve with water in your sink, and are completely pet-safe (except to chinchillas, we’re told!). When available, our first choice is post-consumer packaging products (recycled paper, usually from offices), and our second choice is pre-consumer or post-industrial packaging (scrap generated during the manufacturing process). We also buy American-made products when we can, which reduces our carbon footprint by lowering energy costs. Sometimes we can’t find a viable green option, for instance, with packaging ribbon. In that case, we provide an overly-generous amount to encourage you to reuse it. From time to time, we also publish reminders to reuse our shipping boxes. The Post Office doesn’t mind, and every box reused is one that doesn’t end up in the landfill. Just be aware that a Priority box can’t be reused for First Class shipping.
