Here at the TSA we are always keen to encourage the community to get involved in research. Through the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), the NHS is always looking for patients and the public to become involved in making decisions about health and health service research. Here is one such example: **Make a difference to health research: get involved with NIHR** The Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation Programme (EME) has opportunities for public members to join its Programme Funding Board and its Prioritisation Group. These key roles ensure that the public are actively involved in discussions and decisions about our research. Public panel or board members help to identify and raise issues from the perspective of patients and the public that are relevant to the research. The roles are: • Public/patient Member of the EME Prioritisation Group • Public/patient Member of the EME Board If you would like to apply, then please visit the NETSCC website where you can find out more. nets.nihr.ac.uk/ppi/opportunities-nets There is a closing date of 4th February for both roles. If you have any queries please contact the NETSCC PPI team at [email protected] or on 023 8059 9302.
