To help you plan here is your schedule: AURORA COLONY DAYS ACTIVITIES (Today) August 9: Art Show & Sale Artists Reception 6-8pm, Pythian Hall at 2nd St/Liberty. Public invited to meet artists and get first opportunity to buy at this great display of professional and nonprofessional local art. Complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres. (Saturday - All Day) August 10: 7:00-11:00am Pancake Breakfast, American Legion Hall, 3rd/Main St 7:30am 5K/1K Walk/Run Enjoy an early morning as you weave through the historic streets of Aurora. See details and registration above. Starts at Old Aurora Colony Museum, 2nd & Liberty. 8am-4pm OUTDOOR ANTIQUES FAIRE on Main Street. Vendors from around the Northwest as well as fun food, music. Located right in the heart of Aurora’s famous antique shops. (Most are air conditioned) Shops open until 5pm. 10am-5pm ART SHOW & SALE, Pythian Hall, 2nd & Liberty St. Find your favorite piece among professional and nonprofessional artworks. Air conditioned. 11am PARADE Select a spot on the parade route which begins at the city park on Liberty Street and travels down toward the highway, turning west at 2nd Street (museum) and going up Main Street ending back at the park. 10am-4pm LIVING HISTORY at the Old Aurora Colony Museum. FREE ADMISSION ALL WEEKEND! Costumed demonstrations including the famous “ring of fire” wheelwright, see the mini village here from the mid 1800′s. Get some good deals from the museum’s rummage sale and help their treasury! 5pm-10pm CONCERT IN THE PARK headliners “The Poor Sports” with music from the 1980′s. Opening the evening Aurora’s own “Tongue & Groove”. FREE. Bring a blanket, chairs, picnic and beverages. Food, wine and beer also available. 5pm-? WILD WEST SALOON NIGHT, Deer Creek Mercantile, Hwy 99E at Bob’s Avenue. An afternoon/evening of games of chance from the 19th century played in the parlor of this original Aurora Colony house/store. Learn to play Faro, Chuck-a-Luck and Roulette just like they were played in the Western saloons. For $3 you get $100 in “gambling money” to play and learn a little fun history at the same time.
