Here comes the sun: Thursday, January 29, 1913 The January thaw that can be confidently expected to reach this latitude most nay time between the last week in December or the first month of the ensuing year, has finally arrived. It has been breaking up the snow blockade on the country highways leading up to Oil city, eliminating the last vestige of sleighing inside of town, loosening the ice that covered the surface of Oil creek and the Allegheny river., besides making trouble for the railroads through slides.
