Here goes Charlottes own mascot of all arts, Funky Geezer, or FunkyGeezer Show who also goes by Woody Williams, or Barry Williams, before that. For decades, he would only give private concerts to a select group of musician friends, at his home here in Charlotte, and his homes in the mountains of North Carolina. Some jams would last all night, not unlike Mr. Coltrane, another North Carolina musical phenomenon. A few short years ago, Woody decided he would take his act to the stage, under the rubric of Funky Geezer, after trying out several other names, and brought his talent to The Evening Muse, in the NODA Arts district of leafy Charlotte, North Carolina, which has become a premiere showcase for talent both new and old, in ever sense of the words. Sean Lennon played there on my birthday. I have long wanted to spend a half hour introducing a 9 second video, and so this is the manifestation of that opportunity. In this clip, we see the master being led to the stage, where he crashes his head into a wall or pipe or beam or something seemingly solid, but which is not even touched, such is the magic of His Geezership. Some people say that he can also avoid such crashes, but he really needs to be in the mood. We in the Forest of Heaven are hoping that they will show more of our talented philanthropist, and suspect that if they knew of all the good that he does for the community, they would do just that.
