Here goes. I was born in the small mining town of Castlegate Ut. at the home of my Uncle. My parents lived near Duchesne. My dad always said out on the Strawberry. There was no Dr. out there, but there was one in Castlegate. Castlegate no longer exists,having been replaced by a large power plant. 2. When I was 5 I had such a severe case of Whooping Cough that my parents thought theyd lose. Thank goodness that didnt happen. 3. My first grade class consisted of 3 students. We were not taught printing but started right out with cursive. My dad was fond of telling me that I had better handwriting in first grade than anytime since. This is true!!! I quickly learned to read and loved it. Books became my focus. I traveled the world with my books. Had many exciting adventures. I was overjoyed when at the age of nine we moved to Salt Lake and I found a library within walking distance of my home. To this day Im an avid reader. 5. In my tween years and through my teens I wanted to be an actress. I actually took Drama in my senior year of school and was given the lead female roles in two plays that were only performed in class. One of those roles was Juliet. Oh Romeo, Romeo. Wherefore art thou Romeo. By the way in this case wherefore doesnt mean where, but WHY. Why are you Romeo? 6. I love beautiful and interesting art. Ive always loved to go to Art Museums and browse. I especially like the Impressionists. Ive been blessed to enjoy the art in the museums of New York, D.C., Los Angeles and San Francisco. Never made it to Europe, but would have loved to. 7. As a child I was painfully shy. Even when Ken and I were dating one of his friends asked home if I knew how to talk. My husband, my church jobs , being a mother and other responsibilities have helped to alleviate this problem, but I still fight it to this day. Now I guess its my responsibility to choose and assign another person to share with us.
