Here have a laugh. This is the reply I received when I sent another photographer my bill for using my images without permission Dear Therasa & David of Creative Exposure, I understand that probably though most of this Email you will probably be saying “So What” or “Not my problem” and I truly understand I have been a unprofessional idiot. First please let me apologise for any hassle or upset that I may have caused through my (as I have found out over the last few days ) unprofessional conduit. I only started turning wheels turning for Simon Hannah Photography and only started up 2 months ago as part of my Job Seekers(unpaid) New Enterprise Scheme as I’ve been unemployed for almost 2 years and wish to take a hobby and become self employed and the web site went live on the 1st of July 2013. After speaking to a photographer friend of yours I believe, I have found out about a massive law in which I have broken unknowing BIG TIME! And once again I am unbelievably sorry. If fraud and deception is at one end of the spectrum, in asking any of my friends they would place me at the other end always doing things by the book crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s. And through being un educated on copyright and photographers copyright issues and laws It looks like my new life/career could be over before I even start. Please note (I know this is not the point) but the images where not taken from photographers websites all the images were taken from the search engine Google images and I wouldn’t know which photographer did what, and ask could you please email a thumbnail of the image which belongs to Creative Exposure please. As I was under the impression (now I know I’m wrong) I thought that Google images were an open source to the general public to copy and use. And after my conversation with the lady photographer and realising what I had unknowingly done I immediately dropped the website and any other links with these images on. I understand that the damages were already done but as I said I thought I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I have fully read the invoice which you attached. As you are aware I am on jobseekers allowance(unpaid) due to being on the New Enterprise scheme(starting up a new bussiness, and I am not in any financial position( I don’t even have a business bank account yet ) to be able to pay your invoice in a single payment within 14 days or longer. I understand that I (unknowingly) am in the wrong and you don’t owe me any favours at all, but is there a way of being able to set up a payment scheme to you, say every month. I understand that you could take me straight to court and understand they would force me to pay but once again this would be in set amounts due to my current position. I fully understand I’m in the wrong and you have every right to get payment for the image I used without your permission and I’m not trying to get out of not paying you as this is also wrong but wish your professional approach on helping a unprofessional idiot (new to the photography world) who has made a massive mistake to be able to pay you what he owes. Many thanks for your time in reading this and awaits your kind response Yours sincerely Simon Hannah Should I feel sorry for him? I do a bit kind of
