Here in Central washington, NO NOT DC, the Real Washington, a multitude of Wildfires have popped up like spring lichen. At least eight Infernos from Yakima to Colville have or ARE currently destroying property, timber, and threatening wildlife and tame life. The worst of these (SO FAR), is the Carlton Complex fire which has obliterated some One Hundred, thirty homes in and around the small Columbia and Methow rivers confluence town of pateros around thirty miles from this computer. There, In a TV news interview, a Firefighting supervisor stated: We really need more resources! Aww. Theres the RUB. Those badly needed resources are redily available! I KNOW fully fire trained, experienced, equipment owner/operators with all required radios, safety tents, ect. who have sucessfully and safely operated their Dozers, Water tankers, and other resources on firesin the past who are NOT being called up this year. WHY, you say. Regulations. At least two equipment owner/operators I KNOW had their resources rejected for fighting wildfires for essential items such as passenger side windshield washer NOT SPRAYING! This presidents Enviro protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational safety and health Administration (OSHA), and even the United States Forest Service have gone Regulation HOG WILD. The two contractors I refer to tell me several other operators have NOT bothered to register for fighting wildwires this year. They are FED UP with the nitpicking. So, the One Hundred, Thirty families NOW without their homes can take solice in the fact that NO windshield washerless vehicles were fighting the fire that burned away their homes. Obamas SocioDemocrats are DRUNK wih the power of regulation.
